The United Nations is continuing to send much-needed assistance to the Georgian city of Gori, most of whose population has fled since the start of the conflict in the Caucasus nation.

The United Nations today launched a Flash Appeal for  $58.6 million to meet emergency humanitarian needs created by the recent conflict in Georgia in the presence of Prime Minister Vladimer Gurgenidze and Minister of Labour, Health and Social Issues Alexander Kvitashvili.
